The StripHair Gentle Groomer – Sensitive is best for medium to large dogs with short coats but will remove loose hair on any size dog. As with any groomer made for larger dogs, use only light pressure on small dogs.

How do I use the StripHair Gentle Groomer – Sensitive on my dog?

  • Gentle Grooming Edge: Hold at a 45-degree angle and sweep in the direction of hair growth to remove loose hair, dirt and other debris.
  • Larger diamonds: Hold flat with the diamonds against the fur to comb, remove debris or lather shampoo.
  • Smaller diamonds & tapered ends: Use in a variety of holds to safely groom the legs, face, belly and other sensitive areas.

The material of the StripHair Gentle Groomer is a custom-blend of rubber that was formulated with an extra “grip” factor for removing loose hair, comfortably and effectively.

  • No sharp edges common to many other grooming tools, especially shedding blades which can scratch the skin and cause dander, or bristles that flick dander into the air.
  • Flat edge design distributes natural oils from the skin into the coat hairs, which bind to dust and dander for easy removal during a grooming session.

What steps do you recommend for reducing excess hair and dander in the home?

  • Groom outdoors whenever possible, and well away from foot traffic areas that could bring the hair back inside the home.
  • While grooming, set a double layer of moistened paper towel beside you to place loose hair once removed during grooming. When finished, double over again to contain the hair and give a final pass over the coat after grooming to pick up any loose dander lying on the coat. Fold the moistened paper towel over one final time and dispose in a trash receptacle.

Note: As with using any grooming tool, take notice of your animal’s sensitivity in certain areas. Some areas may require a gentler touch, fewer passes, or there may be an irritation on the skin that needs attention.  

Will StripHair remove dog hair on furniture?

Absolutely! But only use the Sensitive red StripHair Groomer on furniture. The Original black Gentle Groomer is made of a different material composition and can leave marks. The red one should not leave a mark, but it is always a good idea to test material in an inconspicuous spot.  

Instruction: With a light touch, apply the Gentle Grooming Edge at a 45-degree angle to dislodge pet hair from blankets and cushions.  It doesn’t need much pressure, and too much can wear down the edge rendering the groomer less effective.

PURPOSE: Relief of skin irritations due to dryness, hot spots, abrasions or other dermal issues.

INSTRUCTIONS: Part the hair to expose the affected skin area. Shake the bottle of Healthy Skin to ensure the oils are well mixed then spray directly onto the skin. Repeat 2-4 times a day until the problem clears.

PURPOSE: Freshening the coat

INSTRUCTIONS: Shake bottle to mix oils, then hold 12 inches from the dog to spray, allowing mist to settle on the hairs. Work the solution into the hairs either with fingers. Use a paper towel to remove excess moisture and oil from the coat. Applying solution outside is recommended.

PURPOSE: Addressing odor-causing skin issues

INSTRUCTIONS: Starting at the tail, place fingers up under the coat and flare the fingers to part the hair and expose the skin. Moving the hand toward the head as you spray, shake the bottle of Betty’s Best Healthy Skin and hold about 4 inches from the body to mist the exposed skin. Shake the bottle repeatedly as you work your way around the body. Use a towel to remove surface oil on the coat. Applying solution outside is recommended.
